In Hong Kong, Public Light Buses (PLB, aka Minibus) is the third largest transportation mean in terms of daily passenger journeys, behind MTR and franchised buses. Minibuses proceed about 1.8 million passenger journeys all over Hong Kong every day.
Since the launch of 16seats.net in 2009,
we have been providing the latest route information of Green Minibus (GMB) and Red Minibus (RMB), including service hours, detailed routing and faretable. Despite Transport Department has upgraded its GMB Online Guide in recent years, the database is limited to supply timetable, en-route landmark and full fare. RMB routes are even omitted from the guide.
In the past, journey planning was challenging when minibus is involved. In most occassions, passengers could obtain route information upon their arrival to the minibus terminus. With the born of 16seats.net, passengers may receive comprehensive GMB and RMB route information by just a few clicks.
Over 5 years, the Chinese site has maturely developed and received rewarding accolade among users. We are aware that minibus services can be part of non-local citizens' daily life as well, particularly the residents in Central & Western District, Southern District and Sai Kung District. Our English site has launched in 2013.
Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories Green Minibus routes are now available in our directory. Stay tuned to the RMB Route Directory.
